Being a Senior High School (SHS), Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) student in Quezon National High School (QNHS) who graduated and completed the 4 years Junior High School in Science Technology and Engineering program, Isabella Sanchez will share her memorable experiences in STE program.

Why did you choose being an STE student?

“I chose being an STE student kasi nandito iyong passion ko sa related kong course sa college.”

Is it hard to be an STE student?

“For me, magiging mahirap lang siya kung iisipin mong mahirap pero kung ieenjoy mo lang siya although totoo namang mahirap, mababawasan iyong difficulties as STE student.”

What are the advantages of being an STE student?

“I think the advantages of being an STE student, Para siyang training ground for college but also hindi lang lesson na natututunan sa loob ng room but also outside ng room tulad ng mga relationship with classmates and your teachers kasi para siyang competitive training ground na paghahanda for college and senior high kase sa pinapagawa dito natututunan ang time management at pagpapaprioritize kung ano ang top priorities and most especially sa pag-aaral while learning more”

What can you say to those students who look up to you?

“Sa mga students, maraming times na mahirap especially kung about sa pagiging STE students. Maraming times na maghihirap, maraming times na baka maiyak kayo sa pagod, sa hirap and minsan nakaka wala an rin ng pag-asa especially hindi niyo pa nakikita iyong pagenlighten sa mga ginagawa niyo, iyong parang wala pa siyang bearing. Tatandaan niyo na hindi lang basta grades ang magiging bearing or iyong mabuti ng makukuha from being a STE student but also mga matututunan mo in life. The reality about the world at paano ka matuto maging bilang isang independent person in the future.”

How do you make your Science Investigatory Project (SIP) successful?

“Siyempre focus. Time management as always and magseset ng deadline although hindi iyon iyong araw ng pasahan dapat magset ka pa rin ng deadline for certain chapters, then gagawin sa SIP kasi kailangan mo pang maghanap kung kailangan mong gumamit ng laptop, laboratory o anuman equipment. Bumili ng ganito o ganiyan sa pagpeperform ng experiment sapat na rin iyon, pagbabudget and also yung pinakang factor Para maging successful iyong SIP is man power among members of the team.”

How did you prepare for this kind of project (SIP)?

“Nagprepare for this kind of project by researching kung ano ba iyong makakacontribute sa environment na hindi pa nagagawa before o rare lang siya and maging malaki iyong impact niya, hindi lang bilang pangaccomplish ng requirements as an STE but also iyong makakatulong sa society and most the environment sa government and pati na rin sa economy.”

How do you survive being an STE student?

“Dasal. Nasesurvive siya iniisip ko na lang na lilipas lahat ng maraming gawain, lilipas din iyong mga pagpupuyat, lilipas rin iyong mga deadlines, and unti-unti din akong masasanay dito and eventually magagalit ko rin siya in future use.”

Choosing your passion is taking risk, pursuing your passion is part of your journey, Isabella proves it, you may have chosen a goal that requires you hardship, never think it’s hard because if you will thought yourself that it is hard then it’s really hard but if you will just enjoy it then it will always remain a good journey.
