Garcia conducts trash to bigas project

From the collected plastic bottles and the skin of the chancellor, Mr. Rolden Garcia, a SK Chairman in Barangay, carried out a trash to rice project. Below Dupay in July 2018.
The project is one of the platform that aims to reduce plastic waste because Brgy. Lower Dupay as the most commercialized barangay and to assist households as part of their advocacy.

"So far this is our best project practice because it has the same benefits to us and to those we have helped." Ani G. Rolden Garcia.

Participants were exchanged with 5 pieces of 1.5 bottles which contained shredded leather in exchange for 2 kilos of rice which many were pleased to join.

This project began as soon as he sat in the chair and started it. The project has also helped many families including senior citizens, unemployed mothers and PWDs

 "This is a great help for our village because instead of being scattered and dumped everywhere it just picks up to be cruel". He said.

The collectibles are used in the 5 Day Care Lower Dupay school plots as the foundation of the gardens and decorations they call ecobricks garden.  Mr. Garcia is also pleased that their trash to rice project has been relocated to other barangays to help reduce clutter and waste in their area.


“If I will rate this project out of 10 I will score 9 points”. He said. The exchange takes place every Wednesday at 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. Each family can only exchange No more than ten bottles a week for all to give.
